Lead Photographer
AwestrucKen Photography03/10 – Current

Since 2010, I have worked on a weekly basis, capturing images at a local West Coast Swing dance in the Chicago suburbs. This entails capturing both posed pictures of people, and casual action shots of dancers in motion, in an environment with a variety of lighting conditions.

In addition to the work I do for the dance group, since 2014 I have also worked to capture pictures for a wide variety of subjects including: national dance events, weddings, sports events, family photos, fundraisers, and senior portraits, among others.

I use the Sony “A” series cameras to take my pictures, with a focus on capturing emotion and/or telling a story, as opposed to simply just taking the shot. My post production workflow includes using both Lightroom and PhotoShop to edit images.

Social Media Marketer
AwestrucKen Photography03/10 – Current

I work as a social media manager for a dance organization. Social media duties include creating weekly or monthly emails, creating a social media calendar for content, engaging followers of the dances, and reviewing analytics to gauge success for posts.

Front-End Web Developer
College of American Pathologists03/01 – 01/18

I worked to enhance the website’s usability and visual appeal while preserving the brand and overall quality of the site. I designed new, and expanded existing, pages while maintaining style consistency and standards. I researched and applied new skills and technologies as a developer including the use of HTML5, CSS3, PhotoShop, Zurb Foundation, WordPress, and JavaScript/JQuery.

I used a variety of search engine optimization tools including Google Analytics and Crazy Egg to assist in determining the effectiveness of various web-based campaigns.

I used an Oracle-based content management system (WebCenter Content, WebCenter Portal) to apply metadata (for internal search engine use) and taxonomy to a repository of thousands of files for the organization’s website
